As a result of her adoring but exhausting mother's pleadings, Barbara Barry is finally sent off to school by her hardworking but devoted widower soap manufacturing father. When her caregiver gets injured on the way to the hospital, Barbara finds herself alone in town, where she ends up as a member of the radio song-and-dance group Dolan and Dolan, which is sponsored by a competing soap manufacturer.
